The next letter in the
Craft Barn Alpha/Dictionary challenge is "R". I chose Raven. The definition in my pocket Oxford dictionary is "Large black bird of crow kind; (attrib, of hair) black". This reminded me of the Edgar Allan Poe poem so my pages are all about the poem.
Stamps used are from my IndigoBlu Hocus Pocus set.
Colour added using Tim Holtz Distress crayons : Fossilised amber and Rusty Hinge.
Just for a change it was dry enough to take a photo outside, roll on Spring.
Oh Julia, this is lovely. I will misQUOTE the raven: I like this evermore!
ReplyDeleteGreat pages! I love that you Quoted Poe.
ReplyDeleteCool R for Raven blog, wonderfully atmospheric
ReplyDeleteGreat raven and I love your building ruins too! Mine had the poem as the background.
ReplyDeleteSpooky looking ruins!

Great stamps for a great page. New Distress crayons?!!! How exciting, I wonder, do they live up to the hype?
ReplyDeleteThe distress crayons are like gelatos but are softer and nice to use because of the pen shape. They blend well and I like the colours. I caved in and bought set two just to try them. So far, I like them but there is more experimenting to do.
DeleteThanks Julia I think I might cave in too!
DeleteOne of my favourite poems. Fabulous images.
ReplyDeleteYour pages are fabulous! I've quite the enjoyable few minutes viewing this artwork. I know it's not the correct word I want, but I can't think of another way to describe it...I love the sketchy look of this. It gives it that "old world" poetic feel to these pages. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThe stamps you have used are very evocative of the mood of the poem.
ReplyDeleteReally evocative and now I've put that word I'm wondering if I can actually spell it ! LOl - great page for the challenge. Off to look at the other entries. Annie xxx
