12 Tags of 2014 : March

I love Tim's March tag. The stamps are great, the technique is lovely to do and there is not a die cut anything on it! I have the mini versions of the stamps so my March tag is small but cut from Ranger manila card as recommended.
The full tutorial and fabulous examples are on Tim's blog.
Here is my tag. I stuck to the tutorial as closely as possible but left off the word band as I don't have those and didn't want to spoil it by improvising.

My photo is doesn't show the airbrush stencil effect too well but it is there. I used a chicken wire stencil as I don't have the one Tim used so it is subtle. Great images to work with and lots of fun to do. I love that egg!

12 Tags of 2014 - January

The January tag that Tim Holtz created is loaded with techniques and lovely industrial looking elements not to mention inspirational words to start the year. I really enjoyed making this one and I have set myself the goal to try much harder to take time out and to do the tags each month. I think it fair to say I learn more from Tim's tutorials than from any other source.
The step by step tutorial is here : 12 tags of 2014.

Here is my tag :

I have the pocket watch frame die but not the gears embossing folder so I used cogs to emboss a die cut piece of silver card and attached a few washers from the tool box. I think my favourite bit of the tag is the distressed look on the numbers and I am a fan of the pumice stone distress ink so I enjoyed doing the background too although my stencilling could have done with a bit more depth of colour I think.

I really enjoy making these and looking at the great artwork that everyone else comes up with for the challenge is also an inspiration, there are so many talented people out there.

Happy Saturday all.
