Tim Holtz Tag Challenge August 2012

Finally, after deliberating for weeks, I am creating my first blog post.
Inspired by a friend's post yesterday, I decided to have a go at the Tim Holtz August tag challenge. Having none of the materials used in the example I had to improvise.
Background embossed and sanded ColorCore card stock using a Darice embossing folder. Spellbinders die cut shapes to make the frame and having no cameo rubber stamp, I remembered I had some cameo embossed card in my stash so coloured it with black soot distress ink. The flowers and leaf were added and the padlock die cut from gold card.
Hope you like it.

  1. Your tag is just lovely, love the color, love the silhouette image. The best tags IMHO are the improvised ones as they show the most creativity. Why don't you play catch up with the previous month's tags and show them off on your new blog?

  2. Good for you Julia, great that you took the plunge and joined the blogging world! I see that someone has already suggested playing catch-up - that's what I did with the 12 days of Christmas tags.
Have fun & remember improvisation is the mother of invention :-)

PS you might want to switch off the "word check" thingie

  5. Hi Julia, congratz on joining the blogging world :) Just wanted to give you a polite heads up that I already have a blog called Arty Allsorts & it's also my Etsy, Folksy & Zazzle name too. Whilst I don't mind you using it (I haven't trademarked it or anything like that!) it could possibly cause confusion amongst your readers once you get more established, especially as your www address is different to the name at the top of your blog too.

I hope this doesn't upset you, I certainly don't mean it that way - just wanted to let you know really. I'm not the most prolific blogger out there but if there's anything I can help you with, feel free to contact me - I'll try & help if I can :)

    2. Thank you Julia - I hope I didn't upset you at all. I certainly didn't intend too. I think also, in the long run, you will be glad you changed it - it's always best to be as consistent with names as possible so now when your readers see your header title, they know what to type for the address :) I hope you enjoy your blogging for a long time to come. I look forward to seeing more of your work, regards, Arty
